Bouroullec Rennes exhibition
In 2016 Rennes welcomes an exceptional cultural event: From 25 March until 28 August, les Champs Libres, the Frac Bretagne and le parlement de Bretagne have joined forces to present the works of internationally renowned designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The four exhibitions show the most recent work of Ronan and Erwan Bourroullec and concentrate on three specific themes: public spaces, micro-architecture and designing objects.
At the Frac Bretagne, a first exhibition is presented in the form of a Retrospective. Dedicated to industrial projects and made up of around 100 objects, it tells the story of nearly twenty years of collaboration between the Bouroullec studio and important editors such as Vitra, Hay, Alessi, Magis, Kvadrat, nanimarquina and, more recently, Artek and Samsung. The chairs, tables, desks, TV, rugs, vases, plates etc. resonate with freehand drawings, sketchbooks, models, films and other traces from their private archives. The entire exhibition has a modular scenography, based on suspended elements specially conceived for the occasion including a 5 metre Lattice rug in black and white tones.
