Hotel Hiberus Zaragoza
The Hotel Hiberus Zaragoza was inaugurated in 2008, coinciding with the Zaragoza Expo, whose theme revolved around water. The project was entrusted to the Lapeña Martinez-Torres architect’s studio.
The architect Elias Torres commissioned us to provide a piece that would play with the characteristic blue tones of the water. With this in mind, we created a collage of colors, a huge patchwork of irregular rugs according to the layout of one of the hotel’s interior courtyards.
We produced 11 different rugs with 8 tonal colours (blues, turquoises and purples). Each piece was handmade in 100% New Zealand wool using the hand tufted technique, and measured between 7m2 and 26m2.
