Hotel Sofitel Lyon
The remodelling of the interior design at the Sofitel Bellecour Hotel in Lyon was directed by French architect Patrick Norguet, who proposed a floral design that combined two colors with a similar hue.
Based on his initial designs, our design team developed the idea and suggested making the pieces in one color. Using bouclé yarn and a specific pile cut, we achieved the two-color effect the architect wanted through the tone-on-tone reproduction of his drawing.
Moreover, since the rugs were to be placed in a location that people would be constantly walking through, we suggested hand-knotted manufacture to deliver greater strength and durability. A total of 10 different carpets were made with measurements ranging between 2 and 9 meters.
