nanimarquina unveiled five new products at the 2022 edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, including the showstopper: Re-Rug, a collection that emerged from the decision to use the wool leftovers generated by our suppliers.
The stand, embodying a new way of looking at waste, was a display of transparency and sustainability. Designed by ARQUITECTURA-G, it was divided into two different spaces: the main one formed by piles of wool, actual samples of the wool recovered to design Re-Rug, and a second space showcasing the various new collections. These include Tones by Claudia Valsells, Troupe by Jaime Hayon and Tiles and Ceras by Nani Marquina. We also presented our new pouffes, the Tres Outdoor Pouf and the Shade Outdoor Pouf, designed to respond to robust demand for outdoor seating.
Transparency has always been at the core of the sustainability policy at nanimarquina. We want our customers to know where each rug is made, how, by whom, the materials used and the country of origin. This year we have also pledged to increase our positive impact by obtaining Climate Neutral certification. Based on a measurement program, we have established an annual plan to continue reducing CO2 emissions year-in year-out. As part of our efforts to achieve net-zero emissions, we have implemented an offsetting plan consisting of a series of independent projects audited by Gold Standard.
Note that the wool piled up at the stand, in addition to fully offsetting the carbon footprint left by its transportation, will be delivered to the Catalan company Iaios, where it will be used to manufacture sweaters.
