Details

Butterfly Tapestry reinterprets one of Lucia Eames most iconic symbols in a smaller format, conceived as a textile artwork.

Handwoven in kilim using hand-spun Afghan wool, the design plays with variations in density to reveal the inner structure of the weave, subtly drawing the butterfly form. This approach captures the texture and sensitivity of the original collage, resulting in a nuanced and tactile surface.

Designed as a ready-to-hang piece, it includes a wall hanging system that allows for easy integration into a variety of spaces, bringing an artistic and versatile presence.

  • Type

    Kilim

  • Overall height

    4 mm

  • Density

    56,450 threads/m2

Fibers

100% Afghan Wool

Afghan wool comes from sheep herded high in the mountains of Afghanistan. Naturally wavy, it is a very resistant material with a rough feel. Due to the curl of the wool and the irregularity of the spinning, it achieves a unique, aged look when woven.

Technique

Kilim, hand-loomed

Hand-woven on a vertical or horizontal loom, playing with the intersection between weft and warp.

It is characterized by being thin, pileless, and having geometric patterns. High-density rugs, durable and resistant, even though they are very light rugs.
