Located in Anglet, Atlantic Pyrenees, this project began with the intention of creating a new construction surrounded by nature. After a fire severely damaged the forest, the initial design concept had to be reconsidered. Even though the area was quickly replanted, the project adapted to the new landscape while maintaining a close connection with its natural environment.
The material palette was deliberately limited to a few key elements: wood, light oak, concrete walls and floors, raw Arbony wooden flooring, and IPE decking for the outdoor areas. Transparency and openness were priorities in the design, with large vertical and horizontal openings that connect interior and exterior spaces and create a continuous flow throughout the home.
Natural light plays an essential role. Skylights in the entrance and bathrooms bring daylight into the heart of the house, enhancing the feeling of openness and space. Varied ceiling heights, curved partitions, and an oblique staircase add visual interest and emphasize the generous volumes.
nanimarquina is present in the living room with our iconic Losanges in black and white, designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. This piece gives the space a harmonious feel and adds a touch of sophistication to the open space overlooking nature.
