Built to Passive House standards, White Oak Residence brings together architecture, craftsmanship and performance in a thoughtful interpretation of contemporary living. Conceived as the first home for NS Builders’ new development company, the project sets out to redefine expectations around residential development. Rather than prioritising standardisation, the house is designed with the same level of attention and craftsmanship usually associated with bespoke residential projects.

Inspired by the brick and masonry architecture of Eastern Massachusetts, White Oak Residence reinterprets familiar Georgian and Federal references through a contemporary language. Its more solid, private street-facing façade contrasts with expansive windows opening towards the landscape, creating a strong connection between the interiors and their surroundings.
Inside, soft plaster, white oak and regional stone define a warm and restrained material palette. Rugs from nanimarquina’s Wellbeing collection by Ilse Crawford are integrated throughout the home, introducing softness, texture and a natural tactile quality. Conceived around the idea of creating spaces that support everyday wellbeing, the collection reinforces the project’s human-centred approach and complements the calm materiality of the interiors.
