We chat with Inga Sempé to discover her most secret dreams as a designer

Inga Sempé works are characterized by functionality, quality, and simplicity with a touch of oddness, as she values being outside trends. With her, Nani Marquina designed the first collaborative collection between both: Colorado, a collection of ethnic-style rugs transcends the boundaries of weaving by combining the traditional with the contemporary, using ancient techniques such as chobi (handknotted) and kilim (flatweave).

Today, we chat with the French artist to discover her dreams and wishes as a designer

1# A nani rug (that is not yours)

Losanges.

2# The iconic design object you would have liked to design.

Many Paavo Tynell lamps.

3# A designer or artist with whom you would like to share a dinner.

Vladimir Nabokov, but he would have to cook.

4# What is more valuable: the idea or the result?

The result. An idea without result doesn’t exist.

5 # In the creative process, how often do you reject the first idea?

Always and also the following ones.
