Alga, a design that speaks through the senses.

For over 40 years, Nani has been designing rugs. In the beginning, her designs were more geometric, adapting to the architecture of the spaces where they were placed. Over time, she realized that much of her inspiration stemmed from nature, from its organic and flowing forms. "I feel comfortable drawing inspiration from nature, especially since I no longer live in Barcelona."

Living by the sea and in a more rural setting brings happiness to Nani. She is passionate about water, the sea, and its constant ebb and flow; because movement is life. And here lies the inspiration behind the Alga collection: a way to evoke a sense of nostalgia for something that, sooner or later, can disappear: marine fields.

And here, it goes one step further: it connects us to what we fear losing.\" "}]},{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"However, the complexity of its design goes beyond its form. The biggest challenge was to create a visually dynamic rug while using such long fibers. After an extensive process of trial and error, the creative team found the perfect formula: achieving volume required a careful balance of different fiber types, thread densities, and color variations. "}]},{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"As always in Nani’s designs, color plays a fundamental role. A layered palette was developed to create depth, with subtle yet deliberate touches of contrasting colors, resulting in an organic color distribution that further enhances the rug’s sense of movement. "}]},{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"To complete the vision, achieving a rich and pleasant texture was essential. By blending hand-spun Afghan wool, New Zealand wool, local wool, and jute, Alga delivers a fully immersive sensory experience. "}]}]}
