Details

Echo explores Lucia Eames interest in rhythm and repetition in nature, where forms and patterns emerge, shift and reappear in continuous sequences.

Based on a high-contrast collage, the design is translated into a composition of bold shapes and color blocks. Hand-tufted wool combined with carving techniques enhances volume and depth, creating a dynamic and visually engaging surface.

Its dense and comfortable construction makes it a piece that naturally bridges artistic expression and everyday use.

Lucia Eames collection

nanimarquina and the Eames Office, in collaboration with Form Portfolios, introduce a collection of rugs based on original artworks by American artist Lucia Eames, sole child of designer Charles Eames and beloved step-daughter to his partner in life and work, Ray Eames. The collection translates Lucia’s distinctive visual language into woven form, marking a significant expansion of her artistic legacy through material, craft, and contemporary design.

Lucia Eames, born in 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Charles and Catherine Eames, spent the first 10 years of her life with them--including time in the rich creative environment of Michigan’s Cranbrook Academy of Art.  After her parents’ divorce, she returned to St. Louis with her mother for the school year, spending summers in California with her father and Ray Eames.
